A rare and unusual spill vase formed as a monkey climbing a hexagonal shaped vase. The vase is decorated in the aesthetic style with raised stork in reeds on both front and back panels in white, highlighted in gilt. The other panels are decorated with a chain of flowers and leaves in white and gilt on a blue ground. The monkey climbs to one side of the vase and is decorated in a light blue glaze with ‘speckles’ of gilt. All stand on a dark blue and gilt glazed hexagonal foot.

Condition: In excellent condition with no cracks or repairs. Decoration is in excellent condition and the gilding is good.
