Crescent China (Geo Jones & Sons) Comport/Tazza

A richly decorated comport of a shallow dish on a stand, the dish top with a rich cobalt blue centre over which a gilt lace-like decoration is applied. The centre of the dish is decorated with a colourful flower posy. The dish edge decorated with gilt coloured flowering stems, flower buds, branches and foliage. The stand is decorated in the same manner as the top dish. Gilt edging and banding complete the decoration.

Circa 1930’s

Condition: No cracks, chips of restoration. There is crazing visible on the white glaze around the central flower posy. To the underside there is evidence that the position of the stand was moved during manufacture by some underglaze scuffing.
