This miniature altar jar and cover is decorated in a rich blue glaze with gold colour mask handles and gold coloured cover finial. Gilt banding decorates the cover, vase rim, shoulder and base and decorative highlights on the body of the jar enhance a vignette of a lake or loch with the gilding on the reverse a stylised flower.
Circa 1895
Condition: In excellent condition with no cracks or repairs. Decoration is in excellent condition and the gilding shows no signs of rubbing.
