Circa 1905
Art Unions were organisations set up to function as patrons of art and The Art Union of London was one such organisation. Members paid an annual subscription which would be used to purchase contemporary art, such as this impressive Doulton Lambeth vase, which were then distributed to members by way of a lottery. This vase was decorated by renowned Doulton artist Mark V Marshall and assisted by Jane Hurst and is in excellent condition.
